Health and Well-being
At Mentor our Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Consultants can provide training and advice on all aspects of
workplace health which includes:
New Employee
Pre-employment Health Assessment Questionnaires undertaken by our Occupational Health and Safety Consultants
have been designed to identify any potential health issues that a prospective employee may have that could
affect his or her ability to undertake certain tasks within your organisation safely.
COSHH Health Surveillance
Under the COSHH regulations 2002, all employers are required to carry out health surveillance where:

There is a known disease e.g. cancers, asthma, dermatitis with a proven link to the substances
that are used;
- Health surveillance exists that make it possible to detect the disease or its early signs; and
- The conditions within your workplace make it likely that such disease could appear.
In conjunction with the COSHH requirements our Occupational Health and Safety Consultants can undertake
the following tests:
- Lung Function
- Urinalysis
- Blood Screening
Return to Work
The Health and Safety Executive estimate that approximately 2.3 million people suffer from ill health caused by
work each year, with 32.9 million working days being lost annually from people taking time off. At Mentor our
Occupational Health and Safety Consultants can help you to get your staff back to work as quickly and safely as
possible. We will do this by working with you organisation at a very early stage in the employee absence
process.
Fork Lift Truck (FLT) Operator and Drivers Medicals
The health assessment for FLT operators and general drivers undertaken by our Occupational Health and Safety
Consultants specifically seeks to detect any early changes in their health that may be attributable to their
work or may interfere with their ability drive safely.
